1300 block of 270th St.Sheriff Steve Haupert says this morning at 3:01am, dispatchers received an E-911 call from 18 year-old Zachary Eugene Sukovaty of Scranton following a one vehicle rollover accident at the 1300 block of 270th Street, south of Jefferson.

After the call came in, Sukovaty became unresponsive and couldn’t communicate with the dispatchers at the Law Enforcement Center.  Due to the dense fog, notes Haupert, the dispatchers gave GPS coordinates to the deputies to aide in the search efforts of Sukovaty’s location.

The deputy spotted fresh tire tracks on the gravel road and found the Sukovaty’s white Pontiac in the north ditch.  The Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services were then paged to the scene.  Sukovaty was extricated from his vehicle where he was breathing but unresponsive.  He was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for treatment and evaluation with his current condition unknown at this time.

Sheriff Haupert notes that the E-911 helped save Sukovaty.  He comments that everytime the dispatchers receive a call, it is immediately electronically mapped within a close area of where the call originated.

Haupert states that the vehicle is estimated to be a total loss and the accident remains under investigation.
