Wednesday, October 30th

Dispatchers at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center received an E-911 call that electronically mapped to a location in the 1300 block of 270th Street. The caller stated that he was south of Jefferson and had just been involved in a rollover accident, but was unsure of his exact location. The caller then became unresponsive and was not able to communicate with dispatchers. Deputies were dispatched to the area on 270th Street and were also assisted by a Jefferson Police Officer in trying to determine the location of the caller. Due to the dense fog in the area at the time the deputy was only able to locate the vehicle by seeing erratic vehicle tracks in the gravel on 270th Street and then found the car in the north ditch. The Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel were also dispatched to the accident scene upon its discovery. The Greene County EMS transported eighteen year old Zachary Eugene Sukovaty of rural Scranton to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. Sukovaty’s condition is not known at this time and the accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

A deputy was asked to help with a civil issue at 271 M Avenue.

A deputy was advised of a dog running at large in Grand Junction. The dog was captured and transported to the animal shelter in Jefferson.

A deputy was unable to locate a reported careless driver in the Grand Junction area.

A deputy was asked by a concerned caller from Rippey to perform a welfare check on a relative living in Jefferson.

A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction to help mediate a civil issue.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a call in the 1200 block of Westwood Drive.

Thursday, October 31st

A deputy checked the report of cattle along the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near Paton. The owner was notified and the cattle were returned to the pasture.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
