Perry junior Atem Akok finished 3rd at the boys state cross country meet this past weekend.  Akok has overcome a lot in his early life adapting to life in the United States.  “Atem is a remarkable kid.  He was part of the Egyptian refuge camp with the Sudanese lost boys and has adapted so well to our culture and lifestyle here in the US.  He has figured out to work hard and he puts in a lot of practice time individually to perfect his craft.  He really is a leader on the team and the kids respond to him so well,” said boys coach Jeff Fox.
