The annual Greene County High School football team awards night and potluck supper was held Thursday night at the middle school gym in Jefferson. Senior T.J. Lint was named team MVP. Alex Rasmussen received the Scheuermann/McCabe award (top offensive lineman), with Joe Doran receiving the Tony Andruysk award (top defensive player). The Steven Silbaugh award (top special teams player) went to both JC Weitl and Reid Lamoureux. Matthew Gordon received the Allensworth Cup (most improved lineman) and the Ben Carman award (hustle award) was presented to Wyatt Taggart. Lint, Jeremy Scheuermann, Cody Hidlebaugh, and Camron Roth were team captains. Thirty-three players were letter winners.

The Rams were 5-5 in 2013 after starting 0-3. Head Coach Dean Lansman saw his team go 4-2 in district play, good for a second place finish. Greene County lost in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs to seventh ranked North Polk (Alleman), 20-19.

All-District honors can’t be released by media outlets until District 8 champion Kuemper Catholic has finished its season. The undefeated and top ranked Knights (11-0) are hosting Gilbert (8-3) at Carroll Athletic field tonight in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs at 7.
