Greene County head girls’ basketball coach Chad Morton begins the season as an experienced coach with a number experienced players. He’s hoping to change the style of play a bit this season with a high pressure defensive style and a running style of offense. “The way I explained it to the girls was we want them to go as absolutely hard as they can out there for three minutes, then someone else will come in. When they leave the floor, we want them to have given everything they have.” The coach feels the athletes are there to use the uptempo style of play.

New to the Greene County coaching staff are JV coach Katie Gravert, an Albia, IA native, and ninth grade coach, former East Greene standout player Cassie Bardole, who played college basketball at Simpson College in Indianola until last spring.

The Rams open the season on Tuesday, Nov. 26 with Saydel (Des Moines) in a ninth/JV/varsity triple header in the middle school gym in Jefferson. The Rams were 11-11 in 2012-13 and swept the two-game series from the Eagles.
