Only 10 teams are left playing high school volleyball in Iowa and by the end of today, champions in each of the five classes will be crowned at the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids. One of the finalists is Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). The Knights are ranked third and will face number one MOC-Floyd Valley in the Class 3A title match at 2 p.m.

Greene County lost to Kuemper Catholic in the Knights’ gym in the Region 3 semifinal in three straight sets. The Knights have been so dominant in the postseason they are 5-0 in matches and 15-1 in sets. They needed four sets to win their quarterfinal match at state vs. fellow Hawkeye 10 Conference member Red Oak. Kuemper downed Mount Vernon in Thursday’s semifinals in straight sets 25-10, 25-23, 25-17.

The Kuemper Catholic football team plays in the Class 2A semifinals vs. Sioux Center in the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls Saturday afternoon.
