The high school volleyball season ended on Friday and the All-State teams are starting to be released. The Des Moines Sunday Register announced its all-state squads and some players from the Raccoon Valley Radio Network listening area were named.

ADM (Adel) senior Torrie Hook was on the Class 4A second team as an outside hitter. Another Raccoon River Conference player, junior Mariah McPartland of Boone, was named a middle hitter on the 4A second team. In 3A, state tournament runner-up Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) had senior Claire Ludwig on the first team as an outside hitter. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference had Gilbert junior middle hitter Alex Miner on the first team and conference champion and state qualifier Nevada had junior setter Michaela Matuska on the second team. Haley Birks, a South Central Calhoun (Lake City) junior was on the 2A second team as a middle hitter, and in 1A, junior Sydney Danker of Guthrie Center was named as the first all-state team libero. The Tigers were a state qualifying team.
