Greene County girls’ head basketball coach Chad Morton will have quite a bit of experience on the court when the Rams host Boone on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in the middle school gym. The event is an Iowa Pride Challenge Scrimmage that the team had to apply for and pay to participate in. Coach Morton said a volunteer project was needed to apply and he submitted the recent leaf raking project done by the high school. The coach said the event is a scrimmage that won’t count on the season record, but it will be run under game conditions with players in uniform and certified officials being used.
“When we face Boone we’ll have 10 girls with varsity and JV experience from last year. Only Kayla Mobley played varsity all season last year. The others played both at least some of the season, if not all season.” The coach is hoping that experience from a season ago shows up on the court this season. The Rams were 11-11 in 2012-13.
