Panora City Hall Many post-Thanksgiving activities are happening throughout Guthrie County next Saturday, and you can add Panora’s Holiday Boutique Craft Fair to that list.

From 9am to 2pm at Vet’s Auditorium on November 30th, more than 40 local vendors will have items for sale for those residents who want to get some Christmas shopping done.

For event organizer Amanda Richie, the craft fair is a 36-year tradition she is honored to help carry on because it encourages residents to shop local during the holiday season.

“It saves people time, they don’t have to drive out of town.  Plus, it just brings more and more business into town.  It especially (helps) the older people who can’t get to Des Moines and don’t shop online.  There is a lot of new stuff (this year), I think I have at least nine new vendors so I’m pretty excited about it.”

For local residents interested in attending the fair, Richie says there will be wood and sewing crafts, clothing, jewelry and more available for purchase.

Richie adds that with the event now in its 36th year, she most enjoys the signal it gives–that Christmas is right around the corner.  She hopes local residents will come out to see that signal too.
