Given the snow accumulation we saw in Guthrie County late last week, the City of Guthrie Center wants to remind residents of its snow removal ordinance.

During any snow event in which plowing is necessary, the City will implement an “emergency parking ban,” which stipulates that vehicles may not be left unattended on any residential street, alley or City-owned off-street parking area.

The City of Guthrie Center will enact its emergency parking ban any time accumulation of snow is two or more inches in depth, or if there is ice covering the entire surface of streets.

Residents who fail to adhere to this policy will be assessed a standard $35 dollar parking citation.

Any residents with questions about the emergency parking ban policy can contact City Hall at 641-332-2190.
