According to the Iowa State Patrol, 21 year-old Jeremiah Keller of Cadaillac, Michigan, was westbound on I-80 between mile markers 93 and 94 when he began to drift onto the north shoulder.  Keller then over-corrected his 1999 Buick Bonneville, slid through the median and ended up in eastbound lanes of traffic on I-80.

60 year-old J.D. Khabir of La Vista, NE, was driving a semi east on I-80 at the time.  While passing another  semi in the left lane, he struck the passenger side of Keller’s Bonneville.

Both vehicles then slid into the south ditch and remained on their wheels.  Khabir was not injured in the crash.

The Iowa State Patrol says Keller was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stuart Rescue, Stuart Fire and the Adair County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.  Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
