It wasn’t quite the experience the ADM boys’ basketball team was hoping to have Saturday evening in Des Moines, as Aaron Mager’s team fell to Creston 70-59 inside Wells Fargo Arena.
ADM scratched and clawed its way back into the contest midway through the second quarter when the Tigers went on an impressive 13-1 run to take their first lead of the game at 22-21.
Creston slowly and steadily began to reclaim the momentum after that, especially after halftime as the Panthers ended the third quarter with a 46-35 lead.
The Tigers weren’t done fighting in the final stanza though, as they brought their deficit to just 7 with 2:03 left. Ultimately, Creston knocked down the freebies at the charity stripe to win for a second consecutive year at Wells Fargo.
Logan Essy had 26 points to lead the Tigers and all scorers in the contest.
Next up on the schedule for ADM is a Raccoon River Conference matchup with Ballard on Friday.
