Sophomore Tommy Bradshaw has fit into the Greene County Rams’ wrestling lineup nicely after qualifying for the 2013 Missouri State Tournament as a freshman at 145 lbs. Bradshaw wrestled for Carthage, MO last season and went 1-2 in the Show Me State Tournament and was 33-15 overall as a ninth grader. He won his first eight matches to start this season, also at 145, and is 12-1 heading into a home double-dual in Jefferson on Dec. 19 vs. CMB (Baxter) and Saydel (Des Moines). The Rams end the December portion of the schedule on Dec. 21 at Carroll High for the Tiger-Knight Invitational.

Bradshaw told Raccoon Valley Radio he feels he’s both bigger and smaller than a year ago. “I think I’m taller than I was last season, but am wrestling at the same weight.” Ram head coach Mark Sawhill likes the sophomore’s aggressiveness and overall ability. “Tommy will come out after you. He’s got as good a cradle move from his feet or anywhere on the meet as we’ve had here in a while.”

Bradshaw is one of three 2013 State qualifiers in the wrestling room for the Rams. Senior Jeremy Scheuermann is 13-o this season at 152 lbs. after finishing eighth in Class 2A as a junior at 145 lbs. in 2A. Junior Jordan Challen was a top 12 finisher at 132 lbs. last season at State and he’s back at the same weight where he sports at 12-1 mark heading into this week. Scheuermann is ranked sixth and Challen eighth by the wrestling website The Predicament.
