The Greene County High School basketball teams take to the road tonight and it’s just the second road trip of the season for the Rams. The Rams go to Jewell to meet the South Hamilton teams on KG98 with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. The girls play at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. Greene County girls are 4-2 overall and one of four Heart of Iowa Activities Conference teams at 4-1 in the league and tied for first place. The Hawks have one win so far in five games. That came last Friday over winless Colfax-Mingo, 37-35.

The SH boys have three wins on the season in four games in the HOIAC while the Rams are 1-3 overall and in the conference. Coach Jeramie Hinote is looking for his team to shoot the ball better than they have to this point. “I know the shots are going to fall. These guys are too good of athletes and too good of basketball players to continue to shoot this way,” said the coach. The Rams have made less than 25% of their shots from three-point range.
