2161 B AvenueA one vehicle accident leads to an arrest with warrants on a suspect.

Greene County Chief Deputy Jack Williams says at 2:49am on Saturday, December 14th, the sheriff’s office, Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Medical Services responded to a one vehicle accident on 310th Street between J and K Avenue.

According to reports, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck belonging to 22 year-old Corey Michael Renfer of Carroll was found turned on the driver’s side in the north ditch of 310th Street.  When units responded, Chief Deputy Williams says Renfer and two other occupants Brandy Gresham and Travis Ballard both from the Carroll area were not at the scene of the accident.

Williams states that at 4:39am, the deputies found all three individuals at 2161 B Avenue where Renfer claimed his vehicle was stolen.  He was later arrested and charged with filing a false auto theft report and was booked and released from Greene County Jail.

Williams points out that Renfer had outstanding warrants from Carroll County for failure to appear in court for a criminal mischief charge on June 11th.  Renfer was taken to the Carroll County Jail where he will stand trial before returning to Greene County for his filing a false report charge.

All three subjects appeared to be intoxicated but no alcohol-related charges were filed due to lack of evidence adds Williams and no other charges will be filed at this time and no one was injured in the accident.
