The Greene County wrestling team is at home tonight for a 6 p.m. double-dual meet in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference with CMB (Maxwell) and Saydel (Des Moines). Greene County is 1-0 in HOIAC dual meets and 6-7 overall. The Rams are the two-time defending conference champions in both dual meet and tournament wrestling and their conference winning streak dates back to the 2010-11 season. The 22 straight HOIAC dual meet victories was in jeopardy last week vs. Roland-Story due to four open weight classes, and that could be the case again tonight. The Rams won 38-36 vs. R-S and if overcome the forfeits tonight it likely will also be by narrow margins.

Leading the way for Greene County are senior Jeremy Scheuermann (152) at 13-0 this season, along with senior Jacob Challen (120) 12-1, junior Jordan Challen (132) 12-1, sophomore Tommy Bradshaw (145) 12-1, senior Dylan Forkner (126) 11-2, and junior Abe Yoder (138) 9-3. Scheuermann is ranked sixth at 152 and Jordan Challen eighth at 138 by The Predicament. Scheuermann is scheduled to drop to 145 at the Dec. 21 Tiger-Knight Invitational and Bradshaw is expected to go down to 138. Jordan Challen has been at 132 all season even though he’s ranked at a higher weight.
