The ADM wrestling team placed sixth out of seven competing teams in Pool D of the 2013 Battle of Waterloo tournament over the weekend.

The Tigers’ lone team win came against Columbus Catholic by a score of 40 to 25.  In ADM’s other matches, Justin Schmauss’ team fell to Union 63-12, Woodbury Central 50-27, Indianola 50-18, Waterloo West 44-23 and New Hampton 39-33.

The Tigers’ top performer over the weekend was Darold Baker at 185 pounds.  Baker went an unbeaten 6-0 in the tournament, and three of those wins were major decisions.

Other top Tigers performers individually were Zach Johnston, Nathan Heath, Zach Ostendorf and Hunter Gibson, who all went 4-2 in the tournament.

Waverly-Shell Rock ended up the victors of the 2013 Battle of Waterloo tournament.  Pleasant Valley, Charles City and Cresco rounded out the top 4.

ADM will not take to the mats again for over two weeks.  The Tigers will wrestle Dallas Center-Grimes in a head-to-head dual meet on Thursday, January 9th.
