basketball thru hoopAt 4-2 on the season, ADM girls’ head coach Brett Watson is awfully excited by what his basketball team has shown to this point in the 2013-14 campaign.

The Tigers are 2-1 against Class 4-A ranked competition this year, and they have yet to lose with Kendra Chapman in the lineup.  Oh by the way, they’re also unbeaten in Raccoon River Conference play, having knocked off number three Ballard last Friday.

Coach Watson explains just how good his team is right now.

“We’re good right now, but I want to be great.  Like I’ve said, we just want to keep getting better each and every game.  We just kind of look at things as a process and we’ll just keep battling.  We’re still not ranked in Class 3-A so we’ve still got a lot of things that we need to show the State of Iowa and the class to (prove) that we are one of the top teams.  The only way we can prove that is with our performances out on the floor.”

ADM will have many chances to prove they do deserve to be considered as one of the top teams in the state once the Tigers return to game action next week.  In fact, six of the Tigers’ next eight opponents are currently ranked in either Class 3-A or 4-A.

Coach Watson says he actually enjoys the difficult upcoming schedule for his team, as he believes his players will be truly “battle-tested” come playoff time later this season.
