ADMThe ADM boys’ basketball team will return to the hardwood for game action on Friday when the Tigers go on the road to play the rival Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs.

Yesterday we looked at where the ADM girls’ team ranks in some offensive statistical categories in the Raccoon River Conference, and even though Friday’s games will be non-conference affairs, let’s see where the Tiger boys rank in similar conference stats coming out of winter break.

The ADM boys are essentially in the middle-of-the-pack amongst Raccoon River Conference teams in most major offensive categories, including scoring where the Tigers’ 57.7 points per game rank fifth out of eight teams.

In point differential, the Tigers’ also rank fifth in the conference, as they’re currently being outscored by 5.8 points per game.

We’re heard head coach Aaron Mager discuss the need for his team to simply start shooting better if the Tigers’ are going to improve offensively, and the statistics certainly show that.  ADM is seventh in the conference in both 3-point shooting percentage (25.9%) and free throw percentage (52.3%).

Individually, the Tigers’ have two players ranking in the top-15 in the conference in scoring.  At 13 points per game, point guard Logan Essy ranks 10th, while forward Jacob Hardy’s 10.7 points per game rank 12th.

Essy’s distribution of the basketball has been a bright spot thus far for ADM.  His more than four assists a night rank second in the conference behind Perry’s Will Whiton.
