Memorial Services for James Canavan, 83, of Coon Rapids, Iowa, will be at 10:30 am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson.

Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jefferson. Interment will take place at a later date.

Survivors include three children: Elizabeth Zook of Panora, Gay Cadden of Katy, TX, and Terry Canavan of Jefferson; sisters, Geraldine Duff of West Des Moines, and Maureen Rittgers of Gowrie; grandchildren, Emily Hachmeister of Ames, Andrew Hachmeister of Ames, Doug Louk (Trish) of Seabrook, TX and Billie Jo Harvick (John) and other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sliniger-Rossow Funeral Home of Jefferson is in charge of arrangements.
