Kyle Hanna, the very successful baseball head coach at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Boone, spent much of Tuesday at The Jefferson Fieldhouse conducting baseball clinics for youngsters. The first session was for those in grades K-4, while the second session was for players in grades 5-8.

The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio what he mainly talked about. “The biggest thing we talked to these guys about was that it’s a process. If you want to be good at baseball, it’s got to be something you really take and spend the time with and emphasize. I’m certainly not saying that’s the only thing you should do because I want guys to play as many sports as possible. At the same time, there’s no substitute for practice and there’s no substitute for experience. I’m certainly glad these guys came out here. I was really happy with the turnout, and that there’s this type of dedication around the community that these guys want to get better. Hopefully, some of the things I said will stick with them and there’s something they can take into the Spring and into their seasons.”
