ADMThe ADM girls basketball team was back on the hardwood for game action this past Tuesday afternoon, as the Tigers took on Class 5-A foe Urbandale in a road scrimmage.

Head coach Brett Watson says the teams played three separate 20-minute segments to knock off some of the winter break rust before both teams get back to regular season action tomorrow night.

Watson says Tuesday’s scrimmage against some bigger, more athletic competition was a confidence-building opportunity for his players, and they more than held their own.

“We saw a lot of good things… some very good effort.  Our execution is something we’ve really been working on offensively, and we did some really nice things against (Urbandale) so it was nice to see that.”

The Tigers will take on the No. 12 team in Class 4-A tomorrow night, and it will actually be the second time ADM has faced the rival Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs this season.

For Coach Watson, offensive execution will again be a key.

“We know we have to be more diverse, we can’t just keep doing the same thing over and over again.  DC-G–this will be the second time we’ve played them so they’re going to be familiar with some things we did the first (meeting)… we’ve got to throw a couple different things at them to try to confuse them a bit so that we can be successful.”

Tip-off of the ADM vs. DC-G girls’ contest is slated for 6pm tomorrow in Grimes.  Pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 on K107.
