GC Public HealthWe heard Guthrie County Public Health Nurse Administrator Lisa Chiodo reflect yesterday on the busy 2013 for her agency, and despite the successful year, Chiodo won’t be resting on that success.

As Chiodo remains committed to making GCPH the most efficient agency it can be, she discusses one thing in particular she hopes to make some headway on in 2014.

“One of the things I’m exploring and have been doing some number crunching (on), and working with the Board of Health and the Board of Supervisors (on), is to possibly get some agency vehicles.  That way we would have more cost control so that when our nurses and home care aides go out into the homes, we have a county vehicle versus reimbursing the folks for using their own personal (vehicles).”

Chiodo says she has worked at companies in the past that consider the use of agency vehicles a cost-effective business model.  Putting an agency vehicle in use is actually part of Chiodo’s “five-year goals” plan for GCPH.

“When I came into the office in 2012, I kind of had some five-year goals.  Exciting enough we have met one of those already with the electronic charting, so the agency vehicle or vehicles would probably be a 2-4 year goal.”

Mid-March will mark two years with Guthrie County Public Health for Chiodo, and she says she’s excited for what the agency has in store this year and beyond.
