basketball thru hoopThe ADM girls basketball team has won three consecutive games and looks to be clicking on all cylinders.

However, the Tigers’ last loss came against Dallas Center-Grimes, the team they play tonight.

We heard head coach Brett Watson talk yesterday about how his team will be implementing a few different sets offensively this evening against the Mustangs since the two teams have already played once this season.

One thing Watson won’t be changing though is in how his girls defend DC-G star Dani Heritage.  Heritage is averaging 17 points per game on the season, but she can expect to have a Tiger attached to her hip all night long.

“I was pretty pleased with how we played her the first time.  We basically just face-guarded her wherever she was on the court because she’s a very good player.  She’s very good with the ball in her hands, she can do a lot of different things… she’s a great knock-down shooter, she’ll take you off the dribble, she’s also a good rebounder… she just does it all for them.  The bottom line with her is we just want to do our best to limit her touches because if she doesn’t touch the ball she can’t score.  So we’re going to always have a girl in her face to make it as difficult as we can for her to do anything offensively.”

The Tigers actually held Heritage to just 11 points in the first contest between the teams, but she hit a couple clutch buckets late that gave DC-G a close 53-49 win in Adel.

ADM is a markedly different team though now, as Kendra Chapman did not play in the first matchup.  Chapman’s 10 points per game could be the added boost the Tigers need tonight to put themselves over the top.

Pregame coverage of ADM vs. DC-G will begin at 5:45 on K107.
