midwest partnershipMidwest Partnership will be busy this month with an entrepreneurship meeting and its Annual Dinner on the docket.

One of the highlights of the Annual Dinner coming up on January 23rd will be naming this year’s recipient of the Guy Powell Award, and Executive Director Chad Schreck explains what Midwest Partnership looks for in potential nominees.

“We’re looking for somebody in one of our four counties–Adair, Audubon, Greene or Guthrie–that’s had a significant impact on economic development.  They’ve got a passion for moving their community forward, and that can come in a lot of different factors.  It might be volunteering their time and doing a lot of efforts that have created programs or activities or things that have drawn new business to the area.”

Nominations for the award will be accepted by Midwest Partnership for another week, with the nomination deadline currently set for January 10th.

Schreck says the award is a way to give recognition to someone who is deserving of thanks, but who might otherwise go unnoticed.

Anyone with questions about the Guy Powell Award can contact Schreck at 515-523-1262.  Those who would like to make a nomination for the award may send those via email to mcateron@midwestpartnership.com.
