ADMThe ADM Tigers split with the visiting Boone Toreadors in their varsity doubleheader last night in Adel.

Starting things off, the ADM girls lost for a third consecutive game, falling to Boone by a final score of 52-31.

The Toreadors led for much of a tightly-contested first half and went into intermission up 26-18 on the Tigers.  Early on in the third quarter though, ADM used a couple of hustle plays from guard Brianna Mueller to pull within six at 32-26.  But in response, Boone went on a Dianna Slight-fueled 8-0 run to go up by 14 and the Toreadors wouldn’t look back as they ultimately rolled to a 21-point win.

Mueller was the lone Tiger to score in double figures for ADM, tallying 12 points on the night.

The boys contest was a back-and-forth affair throughout, but somehow, someway, the Tigers knocked off Boone by a single point 44-43.

Toreadors’ star Bret Romig, who was expected to miss the game due to illness, had a clean look from the left elbow to give Boone the lead with under five seconds left, but it rattled in and out, and ADM emerged victorious.

Logan Essy paced the Tigers in scoring for the fifth consecutive game by pouring in 13 points.

Next up for the ADM boys and girls is a varsity doubleheader this evening against the formidable Harlan Cyclones.  Both Harlan’s boys and girls teams are unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the state.

Pregame coverage of Tigers vs. Cyclones will begin at 4:15 this afternoon on K107.
