After three straight losses to begin the month the Greene County girls’ basketball won handily 66-19 over non-conference opponent Prairie Valley (Gowrie) on Saturday night in Jefferson to improve to 6-5 overall. The Warriors fell to 2-8 and have lost eight in a row. The game was broadcast on KG98.

All 11 Rams scored at least two points with junior Marissa Promes leading the way with a career best 14 points. Junior Kayla Mobley added nine points just 24 hours after she left Friday night’s 45-35 loss at Saydel in Des Moines after hitting her head on the court and leaving the contest and not returning.

The points scored are a season high for the Rams and the points allowed are the fewest an opponent has scored vs. Greene County.

The Rams play on KG98 Tuesday night in Story City vs. Roland-Story. Greene County won the first meeting last month by a 46-32 final. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls’ game a 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
