The Jan. 11 Creston High School wrestling invitational was won by the host school with Greene County placing third. Creston/Orient-Macksburg had 308 points with Dallas Center-Grimes at 288 and the Rams 175. Bedford/Lenox scored 115 points with 100 by Mount Ayr, East Union (Afton) at 59, C/O-M JV 54, C/O-M JV2 with 12 and no points for West Central Valley (Stuart). The individual tournament was scored like a dual meet tourney with cumulative point totals for all five rounds.

Greene County had champions in senior Dylan Forkner (126), junior Jordan Challen (132), and sophomore Tommy Bradshaw (138). Senior Jeremy Scheuermann (152) finished second, with freshman Hunter Ruth (170) and senior Tray Binkley (182) third. Forkner is ranked sixth in 2A and he improved to 18-2 while Challen is ranked seventh and the five wins Saturday improved his record to 20-2. Bradshaw is unranked, but 21-1 after winning 5-3 in the finals over Class 1A eighth ranked senior Erik Freed of Mount Ayr. Scheuermann is ranked sixth, but lost 18-5 to C/O-M freshman Chase Schiltz, who is ranked fifth at 145 lbs.

The Rams host CMB (Maxwell) and Saydel (Des Moines) on Monday (Jan. 13) in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference make-up double dual meet starting at 6 p.m. in the middle school gym in Jefferson.
