ADMADM’s girls basketball team suddenly finds itself in the midst of a four-game skid after two losses over the weekend to Boone and Harlan.

The Tigers have been roughed up in their last three contests, and for head coach Brett Watson, his team’s biggest struggle right now is simply putting the ball through the hoop.

“Against Boone we shot 22% from the field and against Harlan we shot 25% from the field, so no matter who the opponent is, you’re going to have to shoot better than that to be more successful.  Bottom line is the ball didn’t go through the hoop much for us and we need to improve on that.”

The ADM girls are averaging just 38 points over their past four games–all losses.  Those losses though have come against awfully tough competition, with Harlan and Perry both being ranked in the top-3 in Class 4-A.

It won’t get any easier on the Tigers tonight, as the Carlisle Wildcats visit Adel riding a five-game winning streak.  Carlisle gave Bondurant-Farrar its first loss of the season a week ago today, and then stomped Carroll this past Friday.

With their backs against the wall, Coach Watson says his team has its hands full yet again this evening.

“Carlisle is definitely on a roll.  They’re a whole different team from last year… a new coach, a new system.  They are shooting the basketball very, very well.  I mean they shot really well against Bondurant and in previous games before that.  They’re just making shots, and as you start making shots, that builds a lot of confidence.  So they’re playing really well right now.”

The Tigers will benefit from having a fully healthy Kendra Chapman back in the rotation tonight.  She is expected to play despite missing Friday’s game and playing sparingly on Saturday with the flu-like symptoms.

Pregame coverage of tonight’s varsity doubleheader between ADM and Carlisle will begin at 5:45 on K107.
