For the second time in as many meetings, the Roland-Story Norsemen defeated Greene County in boys’ basketball. R-S was a 75-56 winner on Tuesday night in Story City in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference to improve to 6-5 on the season and 6-3 in conference play. The Rams fell to 1-4 on the road and 3-7 overall. Greene County is 2-7 in HOIAC games. The action was broadcast on KG98.

R-S was 27 of 52 from the floor unofficially and 12 of 24 from the free throw line. Greene County was 22 of 52 from the floor and one of seven shooting free throws with most of the attempts coming after the R-S starters had left the game. The Greene County bench received a technical foul at a point of the game where the disparity in fouls and free throws heavily favored the home team. More than seven minutes of game time had lapsed before R-S was called for its first foul and nearly that much time ticked off in the third quarter before a foul was called on the Norsemen.

Five R-S players scored between nine and 18 points with senior guard Ben Clark getting 18. Freshman Trey Tucker had 20 to lead Greene County with sophomore Mark Gorsuch recorded a career best 14 points. The Rams were 22 of 52 unofficially from the field including going 11 of 27 from three-point range. The Rams have made 11 three-pointers in each of their last two games.
