The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released basketball districts for Class 1A and 2A. District tournaments begin the middle of next month for the smaller two classes in Iowa. Although the teams in each district have been announced, exact seeding and pairings won’t be known until later. The IHSAA seeds the post season based on the results of games five through 15.

In Class 1A, Woodward-Granger is in District 11 with Ankeny Christian Academy, Colo-Nesco, Grandview Park Baptist (Des Moines), Iowa Christian Academy (West Des Moines), Lynnville-Sully, Madrid, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, Pleasantville, and Southeast Warren (Liberty Center). Guthrie Center is in District 13 along with Adair-Casey, Audubon, CAM (Anita), Earlham, Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Griswold, Nodaway Valley (Greenfield), Orient-Macksburg, and Stanton. Paton-Churdan has been assigned to District 16, as have Alta-Aurelia, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Glidden-Ralston, Laurens-Marathon, Newell-Fonda, Prairie Valley (Gowrie), Southeast Webster-Grand (Burnside), Storm Lake St. Mary’s, and West Bend-Mallard.

In 2A, both Panorama (Panora) and West Central Valley (Stuart) have been assigned to District 14. Other teams in that district are Clarke (Osceola), Des Moines Christian, Interstate 35 (Truro), and Van Meter.

Class 3A and 4A districts for boys’ basketball should be known early next week.
