A busy start to January continues tonight for the Greene County wrestling team. The Rams go to Nevada for a double-dual meet vs. the host Cubs in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference action, followed by a meet vs. non-conference opponent Woodward-Granger. The action can be heard tonight on KG98 with coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. The Rams and Cubs wrestle at 6 p.m., followed by the Rams and Hawks.

Coach Mark Sawhill’s team is 7-10 in dual meets including a 2-3 HOIAC record. Forfeits have been the main culprit to the sub-.500 record as the Rams have actually won far more matches than they have lost, but not being able to fill weight classes has been costly. This is the fourth competition for Greene County since Jan. 9 and tonight’s matches will be the tenth and eleventh for the some of the Rams in the last eight days.

Greene County travels to Eldora on Saturday, Jan. 18 for the South Hardin tournament.
