Two deputies investigated a one vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 25 at the north edge of Scranton. A 1998 Ford Explorer that was being driven by Ashley Marie Voege of Jefferson was westbound on Highway 30 (220th) when she lost control of her vehicle, due to snow covered roads, and it entered the south ditch causing the Ford Explorer to rollover. Ashley Voege was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by private vehicle for a medical attention. Her vehicle was determined to be a total loss.

A deputy checked and placed a 24 hour removal tag on an abandoned vehicle parked on the shoulder of the roadway on 220th Street and M Avenue.

Three deputies investigated a reported two vehicle accident that occurred on 220th Street at S Avenue. Greene County Emergency Medical Services personnel, Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene. A 2011 Toyota Rav 4 being driven by Jennifer Lynn Sills of Ames, Iowa, was eastbound on Highway 30 when a 2001 Ford F 150 pickup truck being driven by Alejandro Silva of Dodge City, Kansas, was westbound on 220th and due to snow and blowing snow lost control of his vehicle. The Silva pickup slid into the eastbound lane striking the Sills Vehicle. Jennifer Sills, Alejandro Silva and a passenger in the Silva pickup were all transported to the Greene County Medical Center for further medical attention. Both vehicles were estimated to be total losses. A Failure to Maintain Control citation was issued to Alejandro Silva.

The sheriff investigated a two vehicle accident that occurred on N 63 (330th) just west of C Avenue. A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that is owned and was driven by Jonathan Edward Heydon of Coon Rapids, Iowa, was eastbound on N 63 when his pickup truck was struck from behind by a 2006 Ford F 150 pickup being driven by Zachary David Smith of Scranton, Iowa. Snow and blowing snow at the time was a contributing factor to the accident.  The Heydon pickup sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages and the Smith truck $15,000.  There were no injuries and both vehicles were operational for removal. Charges are pending further investigation of the accident.

A deputy checked the report of an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on 235th Street just east of Q Avenue. The owner was contacted and stated the car would be removed Friday.

A deputy checked an occupied vehicle in the ditch on 220th Street just west of R Avenue. The driver stated that he was attempting to slow for the vehicle in front of him and slid into the ditch. No damage to the car and no injuries to the driver were reported.

A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle accident that occurred on private property in the 400 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton. A 2002 Chevrolet Venture that was driven by Linda Gustoff of Scranton was attempting to back from her driveway and struck a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup being driven by Jeannie Gustoff of Scranton. The Jeannie Gustoff vehicle sustained an estimated $1500 in damages and the Linda Gustoff vehicle was estimated to be a total loss.

Two deputies and the Chief Deputy Sheriff were dispatched to a reported assault occurring in the 500 block of 12th Street in Grand Junction. After an investigation a deputy arrested Kurtis Langfitt of Dana for Assault and issued an arrest warrant for Nevin Wesley Reed of Grand Junction for Assault.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
