PCM (Monroe) reached a season high in points scored and Greene County gave up a season high in points allowed on Friday night in Jefferson. The result was a 68-46 victory by the Mustangs and a two-game sweep of their Heart of Iowa Activities Conference series. The action was broadcast on KG98. PCM improved to 8-5 overall and 7-4 in the conference while the Rams, losers of five straight HOIAC games, fell to 6-7 overall and 5-6 in the league.
The play of junior Kayla Mobley was a bright spot for Greene County. She scored 19 points and hauled down 18 rebounds, which tied the school record for most rebounds in a single game.
PCM was led in scoring by junior Courtney Van Houweling with 21 points and senior Abbi Gilbson added 18. The Mustangs scored 26 points in the first quarter and were not seriously challenged the rest of the way.
