Two of the longer road trips of the season await the Greene County varsity basketball teams this week. A trip to Colfax tomorrow night will be followed by one to Baxter on Friday. The Rams meet Colfax-Mingo on Jan. 21 and Collins-Maxwell-Baxter on Jan. 24 in girl/boy doubleheaders. All four games will be broadcast on KG98 with coverage each night at 5:45 p.m., the girls’ games at 6 p.m. and the boys’ contests to follow.
The Greene County girls will be hoping to break a five-game Heart of Iowa Activities Conference losing streak on Tuesday when they face winless C-M. The C-M boys are also without a victory this season, but their closest game was in Jefferson vs. the Rams last month, 56-50. The game vs. the Tigerhawks will be the first for the Greene County boys since upsetting Class 2A fourth ranked and previously undefeated PCM (Monroe) by a score of 83-65 in Jefferson on Jan. 17.
