The ADM basketball teams split with the Winterset Huskies last night in their road varsity doubleheader.

In game one, the Tiger girls went silent down the stretch and lost to the Huskies 57-49.  ADM slowly but surely clawed its way back from a deficit that got to as big as 15 points to a tie the contest at 49-49 all with three minutes to go.

But when Brianna Mueller, who led the Tigers with 16 points on the night, fouled out with two minutes remaining, ADM lost its rhythm and its momentum down the stretch.  The Huskies went 6-8 at the free throw line over the game’s final two minutes to emerge with the win.

With the loss, the ADM girls’ fell to 5-9 on the season entering tonight’s contest against West Central Valley.

Fortunately for Tiger fans, the ADM boys rectified the girls’ loss with a blowout win—60 to 40 the final score.  It was all Tigers from the outset in game two, as Kyle Ferguson caught fire from three-point land.  He hit five threes on the night and paced ADM with 17 points in the contest.

Coach Aaron Mager’s club is now 4-10 on the year, with their next action being on Tuesday night against highly rated Carroll.
