High school football teams around the state found out on Thursday of last week what district they are in and who else is in those districts for the 2014 and ’15 seasons. Greene County will play in Class 3A District 2 along with Algona, Boone, Carroll High, Humboldt, Perry, and Webster City. Now begins the process of determining the three non-district games for the next two seasons.

Greene County head football coach Dean Lansman said schools have until the end of this week to submit a list of the top five programs they’d like to have on the non-district schedule. He said that doesn’t guarantee the non-district opponents will come from that list, but the Iowa High School Athletic Association takes the lists into consideration when determining non-district games. Coach Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio the IHSAA is expected to have non-district games determined statewide by the end of February.
