Ballard held off an upset minded Perry team Tuesday night 64-63 in boys Raccoon River Conference action.  The Bluejays came out on fire and built an early 13 point first quarter lead.  Senior Cavan Finn was a big reason for the offensive outburst hitting four 3-pointers and finishing with a career best 21 points.  Ballard’s Mason Jensen led the Bombers with 21 and Mason Edwards finished with 19.  Ballard was 13-13 from the foul line in the first half.  Perry had a chance to win it at the end after a Ballard missed free throw with 6 seconds to go but Kolby Jensen stripped Ryan Rathje of the ball as he turned to face the basket and the Jays could not track down the bouncing ball as time expired.  The officials gathered for a few seconds after the game to discuss if Rathje was fouled and decided he was not in the bang bang play.  Perry falls to 3-6 in the RRC while Ballard improves to 7-2 in conference games.
