wrestlingThe hectic schedule for the ADM wrestling team continues tonight, as the Tigers travel to Pella to take on Pella and Grinnell in a triangle dual meet.

Tonight actually marks the sixth time in the past 13 days that ADM has competed in either a meet or invitational tournament.

The Tigers lost both matches as a team in their Raccoon River Conference triangle dual against Perry and Boone on Tuesday, but head coach Justin Schmauss says he’s not discouraged by those results with the conference tournament upcoming this Saturday.

“We’re a pretty good tournament team, so it wouldn’t surprise me if we’re right up there at the top.  I mean expectations are always for the guys to wrestle hard and do their best, then things will take care of themselves.  I’d have to look at things, put pen on to paper, but yeah, it would be great to come out of there with a win.”

Saturday’s Raccoon River Conference wrestling tournament is being held at Boone High School.  Matches begin at 10am.

Expect the Tigers’ lineup to be positively impacted by the return of Zach Johnston not just on Saturday but tonight as well.  Johnston missed Tuesday’s meet with an unspecified sickness.

Coach Schmauss says ADM’s 152-pound sophomore is expected to back this evening.
