The Panorama Panthers evened their season record at 9-9 with a 76-73 double overtime victory over Greene County in Panora early Saturday night in a non-conference boys’ basketball game heard on KG98. Sophomore Aaron Klinge nailed a three-pointer with :02 remaining in the second four-minute extra session to send the Panthers to the victory column. Klinge led Panorama with 25 points, more than double his game average entering the contest.Junior  Luke Webner score 18, nearly six points above his average, and junior Gavin Richey had 16 points, almost 10 more than he usually scores. The Panthers were only seven of 25 from three-point range, but Klinge made four of the long-range baskets, including the game winner.

Greene County has dropped its last four games and the Rams fell to 5-11. Sophomore Tyler Beger nailed six three-point shots and he finished with a career-best 24 points. Junior Landon Braun added 18 points and freshman Trey Tucker scored 13. Beger entered the contest with a scoring average of 6.4 points a game. Braun almost doubled his 9.5 average, but Tucker was held six points below his average entering the contest. Both Braun and Tucker had just two points each at intermission, yet Greene County led 31-26.

Panorama had a 16-0 scoring run to start the second half and led 50-39 after the third quarter. The Rams responded with a 10-0 run to start the fourth, and the rest of regulation and both overtimes remained close.

The Panthers play a girl/boy twin bill on Feb. 4 in Panora vs. Woodward-Granger while the Greene County girls and boys host Gilbert in Jefferson the same night. The Greene County vs. Gilbert games can be heard on KG98.
