ADM’s boys and girls basketball teams both won their road games at Boone last night, marking their second consecutive varsity sweep in as many nights.
In game one, the ADM girls used a big second half to pull out the close road win 61-53 over the Toreadors. The Tigers trailed 28-23 at halftime but were able to pick it up offensively in the second half, thanks to big games from Madi Bertman and Molly Jacobsen.
Bertman led ADM with 16 points on the night, while Jacobsen had 14 and Brianna Mueller pitched in 10.
Coach Brett Watson’s club moved to 9-10 overall with the win, and more impressively, the Tigers have now won five of their past seven games.
Then in game two, Coach Aaron Mager’s club gritted out a nail-biting 52-50 win over Boone.
Toreador star Brett Romig had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but his jumper rattled in-and-out, allowing ADM to escape with the win.
Jake Sloss led ADM in scoring in the contest with 11, while Kyle Ferguson contributed 10.
The Tigers actually led 50-44 with 30 seconds left in the contest, but a wild sequence of events unfolded down the stretch, including a suspect technical foul on ADM that allowed Romig to have that chance to tie the ballgame at the end.
A win is a win though, and the ADM boys will take it. The Tigers are now 6-12 overall on the season.
