A Van Meter resident was found dead in his mobile home Monday after an early morning fire.
According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies joined the Van Meter, Adel and DeSoto fire departments and Dallas County EMS at the scene around 3:45am Monday.
It happened at 28925 360th Street lot #20. When crews arrived temperatures were below zero and the trailer house was completely engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the State Fire Marshall’s office continues to investigate.
Identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending family notification.
