Those who travel on P58 or L Avenue in Dallas County may need to find an alternate route starting next month.

The Dallas County Roads Department will close the road at the South Raccoon River Bridge starting in early April.  The joints and pavement on both sides of the bridge are in need of replacement and the project is expected to take between six and eight weeks to complete.

Cunningham-Reis Company out of Van Meter was approved by the Board of Supervisors to complete the project at a bid of $58,322.

Motorists will be directed to detours from Old Highway 6 to Highway 169 to Interstate 80 during construction.
