Iowa CattlemenIt was a record-setting year for the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association following their banquet and trophy auction last weekend.

President Mick Towers says they raised over $17,500 which is the most they’ve ever received at their annual fundraiser.  Last year, they collected over $13,000.

Plus, Easton Feedlot in Scranton was the top business that donated the most money and took home the traveling trophy which was owned by Hamilton Ready Mix last year.

Overall, Towers states that he very pleased and appreciative for everyone who donated money to their fundraiser this year.

Towers points out that the proceeds from their fundraiser goes towards projects they do throughout the year including giving scholarships to graduating seniors, grilling beef at various community events and last year, they donated to the South Dakota Relief Fund following a year when they lost several cattle due to the drought.
