droughtIt was another rather dry week in the Raccoon River Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry received 0.04 inch of precipitation this week for a total of 0.32 inch so far this month.

Jefferson received 0.09 inch bringing their total of 0.76 inch and Guthrie Center recorded no precipitation this week, with just 0.06 inch recorded three weeks into March.  All three areas typically see just over 2 inches of precipitation

Perry has officially hit their average snowfall amount for the month with 3.8 inches so far.  Jefferson has far surpassed their normal amount of less than five inches by registering 8.5 inches already, and Guthrie Center is still quite a bit behind with only 1.5 inches received in February.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor from the National Climatic Data Center, overall drought conditions remain unchanged for our local coverage area.
