A deputy was asked to check on a discarded bicycle that was found in the ditch near the 700 block of 202nd Street.

A Jefferson Police Officer assisted in placing a dog found in the county into the animal shelter in Jefferson due to the deputy being on patrol in Paton.

A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver southbound on P 46 that turned east onto E 26 and entered Boone County. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office was advised of the driver.

A deputy was not able to locate the report of an injured deer along the roadway on 220th Street near Kirkwood Avenue.

A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department in helping to locate a male that had not returned home in a timely manner.

A deputy was dispatched to help resolve a child custody civil issue in the 500 block of West Main Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy helped the Jefferson Police Department with a minor backing accident in Jefferson.

A deputy was advised of a theft of a welder from a farm shop in the 1700 block of 340th Street. The burglary was reported for informational purposes only and a report was not wanted.

Sunday, March 23rd

A deputy while on routine patrol, checked an unoccupied vehicle on 220th Street at D Avenue. A 24 hour removal tag was placed on the vehicle and the owner later called the Law Enforcement Center and advised that the car would be removed on Monday morning.

A deputy is investigating the report of an ATM card that was possibly stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Churdan. The theft is under investigation at this time.

A deputy is assisting an investigator from the Department of Human Services with a possible child abuse case.

Two deputies and the Churdan Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of 170th Street. A garage that was owned by Cale Luther of 1137 170th Street was determined to be a total loss after catching fire from a trash burn near the garage. Embers from the garage also ignited the roof of a nearby barn. No damage estimate was given at this time and damage to the barn was contained to the roof only.

A deputy was dispatched to the 2300 block of 170th Street for a reported harassment complaint. The altercation was between two family members and is under investigation at this time.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
