Have you ever been interested in knowing more about severe weather and ways you can help the experts document what happens in your local area?

Each year the National Weather Service offers storm spotter training to anyone interested in attending, free of charge.

The Dallas County training session takes place this evening at the Washington Township School near Minburn and Emergency Management Coordinator Barry Halling invites everyone to attend.

“The actual talk starts at 6 and usually lasts about two hours.  We have a meteorologist from the National Weather Service come out and he explains how all these things work, wind, tornadoes, hail, lighting.  So if anyone is interested, come on out and it’s good information so we do it annually” says Halling.

Prior to the presentation, the school will host a soup and chili supper beginning at 5pm for a free will donation.
