stuart2The Stuart Public Library is encouraging area residents to help them with a new recycling effort, but it isn’t the type of recycling that might first come to one’s mind.

The library has recently established a recycle box for residents to drop off used toner and ink cartridges through a program with Toshiba.  Library volunteer Kris Laidley says toners or ink cartridges do not have to be Toshiba brands to be recycled.  Toshiba’s recycling program picks up the toners and cartridges for free.

Laidley calls the library’s new recycling effort their way of making an “environmentally friendly impact.”

Anyone with questions about the ink cartridge recycling program can call the Stuart Library at 515-523-2152.
