The Greene County Community Foundation will be hosting its grant awards night next week in Jefferson.

President Tim Heisterkamp says the awards ceremony will be at 7pm at the Presbyterian Church in Jefferson.  He states that they will give out $121,000 in grant money from the state’s gambling revenue for being a non-gaming county plus 5% of their endowment fund.

Heisterkamp comments that last year, they gave away $106,000 to 20 groups and non-profit organizations.  This year, he adds, they had 37 applications for grant funding and the Board approved 27 requests.

Heisterkamp invites everyone to the free event on Monday, March 31st with light refreshments to be served following the ceremony.
