dc conservationSummer may feel like it’s far away but schools will be out in just over two months.

The Dallas County Conservation Board invites area youngsters to participate in their Summer Youth Volunteer Program.

Students between the ages of 9 and 18 will meet each Thursday for six weeks this summer.  They will take part in earth stewardship projects at the many conservation areas in Dallas County, doing everything from mulching trails, planting trees, testing water quality and painting picnic tables.

The goal is to show youth that it is possible to have fun while being good stewards of the land.

The program starts June 12th and meets from 8am until noon each week.  The program is free but registration is required by May 30th.
